Sarah Chavis and I were contracted by a family friend to
design and maintain a website for the San Ramon Azzurre Girl's Soccer Team. We were asked to
make a fun and entertaining site that the team could enjoy and hold the interest of any visitors.
Specifically they wanted to see something with a high graphic content and and opening animation
using the Black Eye Peas' song,, "Let's Get It Started."
To make the site fun and interesting Sarah
and I decided the site should center around a fictious talent scout's findings on the team. Instead
of looking through pages on the site we thought it would be more interesting to look through the scout's
desk and take a peek at his findings. Using this idea each page on the site corrolate with an item
on the scout's desk i.e. Team stats are found in a research folder and info on tournaments and games are in the
scout's datebook.
For this project I was in charge of site design, illustrations and creating the opening animations while
Sarah programmed and maintained the
web site.
I drew and designed the page layouts using used Adobe Illustrator and created the site intro with
Macromedia Flash MX.
TESTIMONIAL
My daughter plays for a competitive soccer team in the Bay Area and we wanted a place for the girls,
parents and competitors to go to check out our team. A very good friend offered her daughter's
services to help us create a fun and exciting website for our team. Whitney and Sarah met with us,
found out what our needs were and put together one of the most thrilling, motivating websites any
soccer team could enjoy and be proud of! The girls loved the action, the music and giggled over the
profiles. The whole team was totally thrilled with the end results and are looking forward to a new
year with another set of fresh ideas! Thank goodness they are creative, because we were not!
